PechaKucha Pittsfield Nights

PechaKucha Night is a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of conversation (“chit chat”), it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace. It also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of laughs!

While more than 230 plus cities WORLDWIDE hold these PechaKucha Nights (PKN), Pittsfield is the first and only city in Western Massachusetts to be a part of the fun. Even better — this means that YOU can get the opportunity to partake in one of these informal, social, sharing gatherings. Even if you’re not into presenting, sitting in the audience is a great place to be!

The spirit of PKNs is to have a wide variety of presentations appearing during the same event and to welcome all topics. That means scholars, artists, comedians, DIYs, entrepreneurs, innovators and others are presenting together on topics close to their hearts.

The are only two rules at PechaKucha Pittsfield Nights:

1) It must be 20 slides, advancing every 20 seconds.

2) We ask is that you keep it PG-“ish” — there might be some kids present.

Although we do many presentations in one PKN, at times we will receive more submissions than we are able to accommodate. In those cases we will ask if presenters would be willing to move their talk to the next PKN on the calendar.
